Enrollment by Ethnicity: White was most represented background in New Albany Public Schools schools in 2021-22 school year

White students made up 51% of the 2,113 students enrolled in New Albany Public Schools schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 0.6% decrease from the previous school year.

New Albany Elementary School had the highest enrollment in the district with 1,021 students.

A snapshot of New Albany Public Schools schools showed 51% of students were white, 25.3% were Black, 15.8% were Hispanic, 5.8% were multiracial, and 0.6% Asian.

New Albany Public Schools roughly covers three schools within Union County and has a main office in New Albany.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
