Ole Miss women’s basketball player Cotie McMahon was named to the 2026 Women’s College Basketball All-America Second Team by The Sporting News on March 16. This is McMahon’s second All-American honor this season and her sixth overall in her career, but it is the first time she has been selected as high as the second team.
The recognition highlights McMahon’s strong performance during her lone season at Ole Miss. Last week, she was also chosen as a USA TODAY Honorable Mention All-American. In addition to these honors, McMahon earned a spot on several national award lists, including the Cheryl Miller Final Five list, the Wooden Award National Ballot, and the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Women’s College Player of the Year Late-Season Team. She received a total of 22 individual honors this season.
McMahon was named SEC Newcomer of the Year and earned First Team All-SEC honors. She averaged 19.9 points per game on 45.1% shooting, along with 5.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 30.5 minutes per game during the regular season. Her performance improved during Southeastern Conference play, where she averaged 21 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in over 33 minutes per contest.
With a total of 675 points so far this season, McMahon has achieved the fifth-highest single-season point total in Ole Miss program history. She scored at least 20 points in 19 games this year, tying Bianca Thomas for the second-most such performances in one season for Ole Miss.
Looking ahead, McMahon and Ole Miss will compete against Gonzaga in Minneapolis for the NCAA Tournament First Round on Friday, March 20 at 2:30 p.m., with coverage on ESPN2.
