Ole Miss men’s golf team is in third place after two rounds at the Watersound Invitational in Panama City Beach, Florida. Freshman Daniel Tolf leads individually at 10-under par through 36 holes. The team posted a score of 278, or two under par, on Tuesday and is 12-under for the tournament.

Tolf recorded another five-under-par round of 65 at The Third Golf Course at Watersound Club. He shot a three-under 32 on the front nine and a two-under 33 on the back nine. Tolf, from Gothenburg, Sweden, holds a four-stroke lead over three other players. He aims to become the first freshman in nearly eleven years to win an individual title during his rookie season. Braden Thornberry was the last Ole Miss freshman to achieve this, winning the FAU Slomin Autism Invite in March 2016 with rounds of 69-67-69.

Tom Fischer contributed with a round of two-under-par 68, placing him just outside the top twenty going into Wednesday’s final round.

The team ranked second in both par-three and par-four scoring for the day. The final round will begin at 9 a.m. Central Time on Wednesday with a shotgun start.
