Ole Miss baseball players Hunter Elliott and Will Furniss have been named to the 2026 Coaches Preseason All-SEC Baseball Team, according to an announcement from the Southeastern Conference.
Elliott was selected as one of four starting pitchers on the First Team. In the 2025 season, he started 16 games for Ole Miss as the primary Friday night starter. He achieved a 10-3 record with a 2.94 ERA and recorded 102 strikeouts. Opposing batters managed just a .197 average against him, and he picked off 13 baserunners, which is more than any other Rebel in the Modern Era.
Elliott’s performance placed him among select company in program history. He became only the fifth pitcher at Ole Miss to achieve both a 10-win and 100-strikeout season, finishing with those exact numbers. Additionally, he is just the fourth pitcher in school history to record over 100 strikeouts in two different seasons. His ERA of 2.94 was also notable as it was the lowest by an Ole Miss starting pitcher since his freshman year when he posted a mark of 2.70.
Will Furniss earned recognition as one of two first basemen on the Second Team after starting 51 games at first base during the previous season. He posted a .305 batting average along with 12 home runs, drove in 47 runs, and drew 43 walks. These statistics placed him second on his team in both on-base percentage and walks, while ranking third in batting average.
Furniss set a new program record for most walks drawn in a single game on May 10 against Mississippi State by reaching base five times via walk. During the Oxford Regional tournament, he hit .455 (10-for-22) with two home runs, two doubles, seven RBI, and six runs scored; this performance led to his selection for the All-Tournament Team.
