Ole Miss women’s basketball player J’Adore Young has been named to the 2026 SEC Community Service Team, according to an announcement from the Southeastern Conference on Wednesday.
The SEC Community Service Team recognizes student-athletes for their contributions off the court. The initiative is now in its 28th year for both women’s and men’s basketball. Since 2004, all sports sponsored by the league have had a Community Service Team, with earlier versions of at-large teams running from 1999 to 2003. The concept began with football in 1994.
Young, a junior, has participated in various community service activities throughout Oxford and Lafayette County during her three years at Ole Miss. Her involvement includes programs such as Adopt a Basket, Feed the Sip, Reading with the Rebels, Elementary Morning Car Pool, Hygiene HIjack, OPC National Girls and Women’s Day, RebelTHON, More than a Meal and Aflac Oui Play Youth Clinic in Paris. Most recently, she took part in the CASA of North Mississippi Christmas Program by providing gifts for six foster children.
On the basketball court this season, Young has played in 19 games and started one after recovering from injuries that affected her first two collegiate seasons. She set career highs this year with seven points against Georgia and five rebounds against Mississippi Valley State.
“J’Adore Young has been named to the 2026 SEC Community Service Team for the first time in her career,” stated the conference release.
