Ole Miss baseball achieved a 13-3 victory over Southeast Missouri State in seven innings, ending the game with a walk-off home run by Will Furniss at Swayze Field on Tuesday. This win marks the team’s best season start since 2022, improving their record to 9-0.
Furniss hit his first home run of the 2026 season, which was also the 25th of his career at Ole Miss. He finished the game with two hits, including a double, and scored three runs. The Rebels have now secured two walk-off wins in their first nine games.
Tristan Bissetta contributed three hits and two RBI, tying him with two other teammates for most hits in a single game this season. Collin Reuter and Topher Jones each had two hits and an RBI.
Southeast Missouri State scored first, but Ole Miss responded quickly in the bottom of the inning with three runs. Bissetta singled home Judd Utermark and moved Furniss to third base before Reuter drove in Furniss. Jones followed by scoring Bissetta on a single for his first RBI as a Rebel.
After allowing another run in the second inning, Owen Kelly relieved starter Terry Hayes Jr., closing out the frame with a double play on his first pitch. Kelly pitched 2.2 innings without giving up any runs and earned the win.
The Rebels’ offense surged in the bottom of the second inning, producing six runs off five hits, including doubles from Furniss and Reuter. Cannon Goldin delivered a two-run single that led to a pitching change for SEMO.
Three additional pitchers—Marko Sipila, Patrick Collopy, and Grayson Gibson—each worked one inning to finish out the game, combining to allow only one run while striking out one batter apiece.
In the seventh inning, Owen Paino drove in Brayden Randle with a single before Furniss ended the contest by hitting a three-run homer that put Ole Miss ahead by ten runs and triggered the run rule.
Ole Miss will next compete at the BRUCE BOLT College Classic in Houston against Baylor, Ohio State, and Coastal Carolina starting Friday at 3:05 p.m. CT.
