No. 19 Ole Miss women’s basketball lost their regular season finale to Texas A&M, with a final score of 66-58 at the SJB Pavilion in Oxford, Mississippi.

Cotie McMahon led the Rebels with 19 points and nine rebounds, both team highs. This game marked her 29th double-digit scoring performance this season, a feat last achieved by Bianca Thomas during the 2009-10 season. McMahon also surpassed the 600-point mark for the current season, becoming only the seventh player in program history to do so and the first since Thomas in 2009-10.

Additionally, McMahon reached over 700 career rebounds. She joins Armintie Price-Herrington as one of only two players in Ole Miss history to record at least 2,000 points, 700 rebounds, and 300 assists over their careers. She is also one of just two active SEC student-athletes with those career numbers.

Texas A&M started strong with a quick ten-point run that forced an early timeout from Ole Miss. The Rebels managed to cut into the lead several times throughout the game but could not overcome key defensive lapses and missed opportunities late in the fourth quarter. Despite McMahon’s efforts in the final period, Texas A&M maintained control and secured the win.

Ole Miss finishes the regular season with a record of 21-10 overall and an even 8-8 in SEC play. The team will next compete in Greenville, South Carolina at the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament beginning Wednesday, March 4. As the seventh seed, Ole Miss has earned a first-round bye and will face either Auburn or Texas A&M on Thursday, March 5.
