The Ole Miss men’s golf team, ranked ninth nationally, will open its spring season at the Watersound Invitational in Panama City Beach, Florida. The event will be held from February 16 to 18 at the Sharks Tooth Golf Course on Lake Powell. The tournament field includes four Southeastern Conference teams ranked within the top 11 in the country.

The schedule consists of three days of play, with 18 holes each day. The Sharks Tooth course spans 7,246 yards and is known for its pine forest setting, undulating greens, and deep bunkers.

The Ole Miss lineup features senior Cameron Tankersley, currently No. 11 in the PGA TOUR U Rankings and No. 21 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR). Tankersley recently achieved his first collegiate win at The Invitational at the Honors Course and holds a team-best scoring average of 70.33.

Other key players include senior Tom Fischer (No. 17 PGA TOUR U, No. 42 WAGR), who has recorded five top-15 finishes this fall; freshman Daniel Tolf from Sweden; senior Cohen Trolio (No. 22 PGA TOUR U, No. 55 WAGR); junior Collins Trolio; and freshman Finn Meister from Arizona.

Competing teams include Alabama (No. 11), Arkansas (No. 8), Connecticut, Florida State, Kentucky, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Navy, Ohio State, Ole Miss (No. 9), TCU, and Vanderbilt (No. 3).

Ole Miss started its season with a sweep at The Invitational at the Honors Course—winning both team and individual titles—with Tankersley securing medalist honors after shooting even par in his final round.

Head coach Chris Malloy commented on Tankersley’s performance: “Tankersley calmly stepped over a five-footer and sank the putt.” This victory marked the tenth tournament sweep during Malloy’s tenure and was the team’s fourth win in their last eleven regular-season events.

Seniors Fischer, Tankersley, and Trolio bring significant experience to the squad as all are ranked inside the top sixty of WAGR and top twenty of PGA TOUR University rankings. Together they have played in more than one hundred collegiate events.

Returning players Jacob Blanton and Collins Trolio join new recruits Meister and Tolf this season. Meister was recognized as Arizona’s second-ranked recruit by Junior Golf Scoreboard before joining Ole Miss.

Last season saw Ole Miss achieve its first-ever No.1 national ranking on October 23, receive a No.1 seed for NCAA Tournament play for the first time in program history, finish as semifinalists at the NCAA Championships in Carlsbad, California, claim three team titles—the most since the 2016-17 season—and set several program records for rounds under par.
