Ole Miss men’s tennis will face No. 11 Vanderbilt at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center in Oxford on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Rebels, currently ranked No. 31 with a 13-3 overall record and a 1-3 mark in SEC play, are aiming to continue their momentum after last week’s home victory over No. 30 Arkansas.
Vanderbilt arrives with a 12-3 overall record and a 4-1 standing in the SEC. Their roster features two ranked singles players: No. 90 Hoyoung Roh and No. 115 Pablo Martinez Gomez. Martinez Gomez was recently named SEC Player of the Week following his performances against No. 14 Texas A&M and Oklahoma. Vanderbilt also has a ranked doubles team, with Nathan Cox and Hoyoung Roh listed at No. 49.
Ole Miss counters with its own ranked doubles pair, Stefano D’Agostino and Pietro Pampanin, who are currently at No. 63.
The Rebels’ lineup includes several notable players:
– Matthieu Chambonniere finished the previous season with a strong singles record of 23-7 and achieved as many as seven conference singles wins.
– Stefano D’Agostino reached as high as No.2 in ITF singles rankings in August of last year.
– Vlado Jankanj holds an ATP career-high singles ranking of No.1074.
– Loan Lestir secured six SEC singles victories during his rookie season.
– Benjamin Martin tied for the most dual doubles wins on the team last season.
– Kai Milburn played primarily on court six for singles and earned a top ITA doubles ranking alongside Isac Strömberg.
– Pietro Pampanin won his first ITF World Tennis Tour title in Getxo and reached an ATP doubles ranking of No.813.
– Noah Schlagenhauf posted most of his career singles wins from the top spot on the team’s lineup.
– Isac Strömberg notched three top thirty-ranked wins in doubles competition.
– Gordon Whitwell completed last season undefeated in dual singles matches.
