Ole Miss men’s tennis remains unbeaten after home win over Tulane

Ole Miss men’s tennis team maintained its undefeated record with a 6-1 win over Tulane on Friday at the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center in Oxford, Mississippi. The Rebels now hold a 5-0 record for the season.

The match began with doubles play, where Matthieu Chambonniere and Benjamin Martin secured a 6-2 victory against Tulane’s Asaf Fiedler and Andres Delgadillo. However, Ole Miss lost the other two doubles matches, including a tiebreaker defeat for No.11 Isac Stromberg and Kai Milburn to Daniel Phillips and Lance Nisbet, 7-6 (7-4).

In singles competition, Ole Miss rebounded strongly by winning all six matches. Pietro Pampanin defeated Alec Gaudin 6-2, 6-2 on court three to give Ole Miss its first singles point. Chambonniere followed with a win over Asaf Friedler, taking the sets 6-1 and 6-4.

Benjamin Martin added another point for the Rebels by overcoming Steven Rice 6-1, 6-2 on court five. Isac Stromberg clinched the match with a straight-set victory over Lance Nisbet, finishing 7-5, 6-0.

Noah Schlagenhauf won his match against Andres Delgadillo in straight sets, while freshman Stefano D’Agostino closed out the day by defeating Daniel Phillips in three sets: 3-6, 6-3, and a deciding tiebreaker at 10-8.

The Rebels will look to continue their strong start as they progress through their season schedule.
