Ole Miss men’s tennis sweeps Furman in doubleheader at home

The Ole Miss men’s tennis team achieved a pair of 4-0 victories over Furman in a doubleheader at the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday, moving to a 4-0 record for the season.

In the first match, Ole Miss secured the doubles point early. Pietro Pampanin and Vlado Jankanj won their match 6-0 against Alex Han and Finn Pollard. Matthieu Chambonniere and Benjamin Martin followed with a 6-3 win over Evan Duggal and Landon Ecarma, clinching the doubles point for Ole Miss.

During singles play, Noah Schlagenhauf defeated Landon Ecarma 6-2, 6-0. Isac Strömberg beat Nicolas Dispas with two sets of 6-1 each. Chambonniere added another point by overcoming Nico Snyder 6-1, 6-2.

In the second match of the day, Ole Miss again claimed the doubles point. The No. 11 ranked pairing of Strömberg and Kai Milburn posted a 6-3 win against Ecarma and Duggal. Chambonniere and Martin also recorded a 6-3 victory over Snyder and Dispas.

Schlagenhauf continued his strong performance in singles with a straight-set win (6-0, 6-3) over Dispas. Jankanj won his singles match against Duggal (6-4, 6-1), while Milburn clinched the final point for Ole Miss by defeating Ecarma (6-3, 6-2).

Ole Miss will next host Charlotte at home in Oxford on January 23, with play scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
