Ole Miss rifle secured a 4738-4703 win over Memphis in the NCAA Qualifier on Saturday at the Ole Miss Rifle Range. This victory marks the Rebels’ third consecutive win against Memphis within a week and their 10th of the season, matching last year’s achievement. The program has now reached double-digit wins in a season for only the fourth time.

The Rebels have extended their head-to-head winning streak to seven matches, which is their longest since the 2020-21 season. They have scored at least 4730 points in six matches this year, setting a new program record. The team’s average aggregate score stands at 4730.5 per match, also an all-time high for Ole Miss, and they have not dropped below 4700 in any match this season.

Key contributors included Audrey Gogniat, Gracie Dinh, and Jordan de Jesus. Gogniat led with an aggregate score of 1189, while Dinh and de Jesus each posted scores of 1185. Dinh claimed second place after winning a tiebreaker with 90 center shots.

Ole Miss has now won nine straight NCAA Qualifiers, with this year’s score being its highest during that span. It is also the third consecutive year Ole Miss has defeated Memphis in this event.

Following Saturday’s result, Ole Miss’ deciding average shifted to 4743.3 as they aim for their sixth straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Their participation will be determined during the National Collegiate Rifle Selection Show scheduled for Monday, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. CT.

In smallbore competition during the first relay, Gogniat, de Jesus, and Regan Diamond each scored 589 points—Gogniat led with 35 center shots—while Dinh added a score of 588. In air rifle, Gogniat posted a score of 598; Dinh followed with a 597 and de Jesus with a 596. Diamond contributed a score of 591 to bring Ole Miss’ total in air rifle to 2383 points—tied for sixth best in program history.

Gretchen Schleinkofer achieved career highs with scores of 589 in smallbore and an aggregate of 1178; her smallbore tally matched Gogniat’s top mark for the day as both registered 35 center shots. Claudia Muzik tied her season high by scoring a 592 in air rifle.

If selected for the NCAA Tournament following Monday’s selection show, Ole Miss will compete in Columbus, Ohio from March 13-14.
