Ole Miss softball has been ranked No. 24 in the country in D1Softball’s preseason poll, according to an announcement made Tuesday. The team was also listed as No. 25 nationally by Softball America last week. Additional preseason rankings from the NFCA and ESPN/USA Softball are expected soon.

This ranking marks the highest preseason placement for Ole Miss since 2020, when the program was ranked No. 21 by USA Today/NFCA. Last season, Ole Miss achieved a milestone by reaching its first Women’s College World Series and securing its highest national ranking at No. 7 by Softball America.

The team’s roster for the upcoming season features significant changes, with 16 new players joining—10 transfers and six freshmen. Key returners include All-SEC sophomore Persy Llamas, NFCA All-South Region sophomore Mackenzie Pickens, and seniors Taylor Malvin and Taylor Roman.

The Rebels will begin their regular season on February 5 with a doubleheader against Cal State Fullerton as part of the Easton Classic. The games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. CT.

“Get rewarded for attending events by joining Rebel Rewards powered by Coca-Cola, the official fan loyalty program of the Ole Miss Rebels,” stated the release. “Download the Ole Miss Sports mobile app, sign up for a Rebel Rewards account, and start earning points immediately that can be redeemed for exclusive prizes and experiences.”
