Ole Miss softball secured two wins at home during the second day of the Ole Miss Classic, defeating Jacksonville State 4-1 and ULM 7-1 at the Ole Miss Softball Stadium.

In the first game against Jacksonville State, Emilee Boyer started strong for the Rebels, striking out all three batters in the opening inning and holding Jacksonville State hitless through four innings with a total of five strikeouts. The offense initially struggled until Madi George hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to give Ole Miss a 1-0 lead.

Jacksonville State responded in the fifth inning, tying the game on a passed ball after recording their first hit and capitalizing on an error. Lilly Whitten came into relief, working out of a jam to prevent further scoring. Taylor Malvin then singled in the bottom of the fifth, setting up Mackenzie Pickens for a two-run home run that gave Ole Miss a 3-1 advantage.

Persy Llamas tripled later in the inning and was joined on base by Izzy Rettiger following George’s walk. Both executed a double steal, with Llamas scoring to extend the lead to 4-1. Whitten closed out the game with 2.1 innings of one-hit relief.

In game two versus ULM, Kyra Aycock started for Ole Miss and tallied five strikeouts over five innings while allowing five hits. The Rebels broke through offensively in the fourth inning when Cassie Reasner walked and Kennedy Bunker singled to set up Taylor Roman’s RBI single for a 1-0 lead.

The team continued their offensive push as Rachel Connors drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 2-0 before Malvin added a two-RBI single for a four-run advantage. Pickens contributed with a sacrifice fly followed by George hitting her seventh home run of the season as Ole Miss scored seven runs in one frame.

ULM managed one run in the fifth inning before Whitten again took over pitching duties, closing out with two hitless innings.

Ole Miss will conclude play at this year’s Classic on Sunday with another matchup against ULM scheduled for 1 p.m. CT, available via SEC Network Plus.
