Ole Miss track and field athletes set two new school records during the Bob Pollock Invitational in Clemson, South Carolina, concluding their two-day participation with several notable performances.
Senior Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan, a three-time NCAA shot put champion and member of the Bowerman watch list, recorded a personal best throw of 21.18 meters (69-6) on his third attempt. This mark improves his standing as the NCAA leader and places him second on both the U.S. and world lists for 2026. Robinson-O’Hagan also broke his own school record and is now ranked No. 20 in collegiate history and No. 2 in SEC history indoors.
“Robinson-O’Hagan is closing in on becoming the first SEC thrower to ever break 70 feet indoors, as the SEC indoor record currently belongs to South Carolina’s Josh Awotunde from 2018 (21.33m/69-11.75),” according to event details.
Sophomore Jordan Urrutia broke a long-standing Ole Miss record in the men’s 200-meter dash with a time of 20.89 seconds, surpassing Kendrick Triggs’ previous record from 2002 by one hundredth of a second. Urrutia finished fourth overall in this event and later anchored Ole Miss’ 4×400-meter relay team—alongside Joshua Knox, Carson Turner, and Cade Flatt—to a second-place finish with a time of 3:08.61.
The relay team’s performance was just behind Auburn’s winning time by less than half a second and now stands as the third fastest indoor relay time in school history.
Freshman Patchnalie Compere made her collegiate debut memorable by finishing third in the women’s 200-meter dash at 23.39 seconds—a new Ole Miss freshman indoor record that also qualifies as a Haitian indoor national record due to her heritage.
Other significant performances included junior transfer Sterling Scott’s win in the men’s triple jump at 16.14 meters (52-11.50), making him fourth all-time at Ole Miss indoors; freshman Bayli Major’s eighth place finish in women’s triple jump at 12.33 meters (40-05.50), ranking her eighth all-time at Ole Miss; senior Logan Kelley’s pole vault clearance of 5.46 meters (17-11), which makes him second-best ever indoors for Ole Miss; and strong showings from distance runners Aiden Britt, Evan Thornton-Sherman, Beth Arentz, Max Armstrong, Chase Rose, Carson Turner, Cade Flatt, Sophie Baumann, Leah Penick, Hannah Doyle, Ella Johnson, Addy Mitchell, Kidus Misgina, Owen Kelley, Marco Perez, John Shoemaker.
In total across both days of competition—including preliminary rounds—Ole Miss athletes earned multiple top finishes and personal bests across sprints, jumps, throws and distance events.
The team will next compete at the New Mexico Classic scheduled for February 6-7 in Albuquerque.
