Ole Miss track and field will begin its outdoor season at home with the annual Ole Miss Classic, scheduled for March 20-21.
The event will take place at Prefontaine Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi. Competition starts Friday at noon with the women’s hammer throw, followed by a full schedule on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. Central Time. Fans who cannot attend in person can watch both days of action live on SEC Network+.
Thirteen schools and twenty-five teams are set to participate, bringing together 481 athletes across 751 entries. The list of competing schools includes Alabama-Huntsville, Bellarmine, Harding, North Alabama, Ole Miss, Ouachita Baptist, Rust College (men only), SIU-Edwardsville, Tennessee State, Texas A&M-Texarkana, ULM, West Alabama, and William Carey.
Prefontaine Stadium was renamed in 2025 after a $750,000 gift from Debbie and Andy Prefontaine. The facility has undergone significant upgrades since its construction in 2004 and now seats 1,500 spectators. In recent years it has hosted major events such as the SEC Outdoor Championships.
The Rebels enter the outdoor season following strong performances during the indoor campaign. Both men’s and women’s squads finished within the top-15 nationally. Senior Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan won his third consecutive indoor national title in shot put for the men’s team while Akaoma Odeluga earned NCAA runner-up honors in shot put for the women’s team. Head coach Connie Price-Smith is entering her eleventh year leading Ole Miss and has guided the program to numerous top finishes at both conference and national levels.
