Ole Miss women’s golf moves up leaderboard at Moon Golf Invitational

The Ole Miss women’s golf team, ranked No. 14 nationally, moved up three spots to seventh place after two rounds at the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Florida. The team finished the day one-under par collectively and has a total score of 587 (+11) for the tournament.

Freshman Matilda Björkman led the Rebels with a three-under-par 69 in the second round. She started her round with nine consecutive pars and then birdied three of her next six holes before closing with three straight pars. Björkman was the only Ole Miss player to complete the round without a bogey and improved her position by 33 places to tie for seventh going into the final round.

Sophie Linder also finished under par with a one-under 71, while Kajsalotta Svarvar shot even par after struggling in her first round. Nicole Gal and Mary Miller each recorded scores of three-over 75.

According to tournament statistics, only two holes on the course are playing under par through 36 holes. Björkman currently leads all players in par-4 scoring at five-under for the week.

The final round is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. CT with a shotgun start.
