Ole Miss women’s tennis lost to No. 10 Oklahoma, 4-0, at the Headington Family Tennis Center on Friday evening, March 13.

The match saw the Sooners take an early lead by securing the doubles point. The Ole Miss pair of Andrea Nova and Emily Welker, ranked No. 85 nationally, were tied at 4-4 with the top-ranked doubles team in the country before their match was left unfinished. In other doubles action, Julia Garcia Ruiz and Salakthip Ounmuang from Oklahoma defeated Riley Crowder and Alice Soulie of Ole Miss 6-0, while Evialina Laskevich and Barakat Quadre (OU) beat Brooklyn Olson and Beatrice Stagno (OM) 6-2.

In singles play, Oklahoma clinched the victory by winning matches on courts two, three, and five in straight sets. Two of those wins came from Sooners players who are individually ranked in the top-65 nationally. The remaining singles matches were not completed when Oklahoma secured the overall win.

The Rebels now hold a season record of 6-6 overall and 1-5 in Southeastern Conference play. The Sooners improved to a record of 13-4 overall and 4-2 in conference competition.

Looking ahead, Ole Miss will travel directly to Fayetteville, Arkansas for their next match against the Razorbacks on Sunday, March 15 at noon Central Time.
