The No. 37 Ole Miss Women’s Tennis team won both matches in its doubleheader on March 21, defeating Missouri 4-1 and sweeping Missouri State 4-0 at the Palmer/Salloum Outdoor Tennis Center.

These victories improve the Rebels’ record to 9-7 overall and 3-6 in Southeastern Conference play. The results are significant as they help Ole Miss build momentum heading into their next home match against a top-ranked opponent.

Against Missouri, Ole Miss secured the doubles point with quick wins from Alice Soulié and Riley Crowder, who defeated Korina Roso and Alex Ackman 6-0, and Beatrice Stagno with Brooklyn Olson, who won their match 6-2. In singles play, Emily Welker earned the first singles point for Ole Miss with a straight-set victory over Roso. Crowder followed by defeating Artimedi. The only point for Missouri came when Olson retired due to injury during her singles match. Andrea Nova clinched the match for Ole Miss by beating Lara Quaglia in straight sets.

In the second match of the day against Missouri State, Ole Miss again took an early lead by winning the doubles point. Stagno picked up her first home singles win by defeating Elsie Jackson decisively. Ichino Horikawa added another point with a shutout win over Leticia Caldararo before Soulié completed the sweep by beating Billur Gonlusen.

Several matches in both contests went unfinished after Ole Miss clinched victory early. The Rebels will continue their season at home on Friday, March 27, facing No. 5 Texas A&M.
