The Ole Miss women’s tennis team won both games of a doubleheader on Apr. 7, defeating Mississippi Valley State and Memphis at the Palmer/Salloum Outdoor Tennis Center.

These victories marked the last home matches of the season for Ole Miss, who extended their win streak to four and improved their record to 13-9 overall and 5-8 in Southeastern Conference play. The Rebels beat Mississippi Valley State 7-0 before securing a 4-0 victory over Memphis.

In the first match against Mississippi Valley State, which fielded only five players, Ole Miss quickly took control. The Rebels claimed doubles points with Emily Welker and Alice Soulié winning 6-0, followed by Riley Crowder and Brooklyn Olson also posting a 6-0 result. With MVSU forfeiting one court due to being short-handed, Ole Miss entered singles play with an advantage and went on to sweep all available courts without dropping a game.

Later that afternoon, seniors Emily Welker and Emma Kette were recognized before facing Memphis. Like MVSU, Memphis was short a player leading to automatic wins for Ole Miss in both doubles and singles on one court each. Welker teamed up with Andrea Nova for a decisive doubles win while Soulié and Crowder’s match went unfinished at five games apiece. In singles action, Welker closed her final home appearance with another dominant performance as Crowder added another point after her opponent retired.

The Rebels will conclude their regular season schedule on the road against No. 19 Tennessee on April 9 followed by Kentucky on April 11.
