Ole Miss secured a 97-95 overtime victory against No. 21 Georgia at Stegeman Coliseum on Wednesday night, with Patton Pinkins scoring the decisive basket as time expired. The win marks the team’s first over a ranked opponent this season.
The Rebels were led by AJ Storr, who scored a season-high 27 points. Pinkins added 18 points, while Travis Perry and Ilias Kamardine contributed 14 and 13 points respectively. Together, these four players accounted for most of Ole Miss’s offense in what was described as a team effort.
Ole Miss started strong, building a nine-point lead early in the first half before Georgia responded to take a halftime advantage of 40-35. Jeremiah Wilkinson played a key role for the Bulldogs, making five three-pointers in the opening period.
In the second half, both teams traded leads. Storr’s step-back three-pointer gave Ole Miss its first lead after halftime, but Georgia quickly regained control through Marcus Millender’s own three-pointer. Late in regulation, crucial plays from Perry and Kamardine helped keep Ole Miss close before Storr tied the game at 87 to force overtime.
During overtime, with the score tied at 95 and only seconds remaining following a missed free throw by Millender, Storr attempted a shot that fell short. Pinkins collected the rebound and scored just before time expired to secure the win.
“This marked the first ranked win of the season for Ole Miss, with their last such victory coming over No. 14 Iowa State in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, and last road ranked win coming at No. 4 Alabama a season ago,” according to team officials.
“AJ Storr finished with a season-best 27 points, setting his previous best mark in Ole Miss’ last game as he scored 26 to take down Missouri.”
“The NCAA’s leader in blocks per game, Georgia was held to just a single swatted shot tonight.”
“Going 7-9 from the field tonight including the game-winner, Patton Pinkins is now shooting 60.5 percent from the floor (23-38) over the last five games.”
Ole Miss will next play Mississippi State on Saturday at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville.
