The Ole Miss softball team, ranked No. 21, secured a 4-3 walk-off win against Miami on Monday at the Ole Miss Softball Stadium. The victory was clinched by Persy Llamas, who hit a double to right center field in the bottom of the seventh inning, driving in the winning run.

The Rebels improved their record to 7-4 for the season. They initially took a 2-0 lead after singles from Madi George and Cassie Reasner set up Rachel Connors for a two-RBI single. Miami responded with a two-run home run in the third inning to tie the game.

Emilee Boyer pitched four innings for Ole Miss, allowing only three hits and keeping the score tied during her time in the circle. In the fourth inning, Connors singled and Laylonna Applin doubled but both were left on base. Connors and Applin together contributed five hits to support Ole Miss’s offense.

Miami moved ahead with a solo home run in the sixth inning. However, Ole Miss answered quickly: Madi George led off with a double, her pinch runner Izzy Rettiger advanced to third on a wild pitch, and Grace Thompson drove in Rettiger with an RBI groundout to tie it at 3-3.

Kyra Aycock pitched a scoreless seventh inning for Ole Miss before Llamas delivered her game-winning hit after Taylor Malvin reached base on an error and Mackenzie Pickens got on via fielder’s choice.

The Rebels will travel next weekend to Birmingham, Alabama, where they will compete in the Green & Gold Classic hosted by UAB. Their first matchup is scheduled against Mercer on Friday at 2 p.m. CT.
