No. 17 Ole Miss women’s basketball lost to No. 3 South Carolina, 85-48, on Sunday at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia. Christeen Iwuala led the Rebels with a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. This marks her 11th double-double of the season, a feat last achieved by Madison Scott in the 2022-23 season.

Latasha Lattimore contributed three blocks for Ole Miss, marking the 12th time this season she has recorded at least three blocks in a game. The last Rebel to reach this mark was Promise Taylor, who had 14 such games during the 2017-18 season.

For South Carolina, Joyce Edwards led with 21 points and six rebounds.

Ole Miss stayed close in the first quarter after overcoming an early deficit. Lattimore made her first four shots for eight points, assisted twice by Cotie McMahon, who finished the quarter with three assists. The Rebels forced six turnovers from South Carolina but trailed by four points entering the second quarter.

At the start of the second quarter, Iwuala scored on a tough layup after securing an offensive rebound and went on to lead Ole Miss with ten first-half points. Lattimore added two more blocks early in the period for a total of three before halftime. South Carolina extended its lead after making two three-pointers and went into halftime ahead 41-25.

In the second half, fatigue became apparent for Ole Miss after playing five games in ten days. South Carolina maintained control and secured an insurmountable lead en route to victory.

Ole Miss will remain on the road for its final SEC regular-season away game against Florida on Thursday, February 26 at 5 p.m. CT; coverage will be available on SECN.

Single-game tickets for next season are now available through OleMissTix.com.
