On Saturday, Feb. 8, former South Panola High School standout Jensen Presley’s current college team, the Harding Bisons, won 6-2 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the McKendree Bearcats.
The game took place at Jerry Moore Field. This was their third matchup against the Bearcats this season.
The Bisons’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. at Jerry Moore Field against McKendree Bearcats.
Lafayette County has obtained $5 million from state sources aimed at upgrading its detention center facilities as well as local behavioral health resources through Communicare’s Haven House program. Officials say these improvements will address rising public safety needs along with growing demand for mental health support.
In Panola County, the week’s lowest midgrade gas price was $3.09 per gallon as of the week ending Jan. 31.
