88 percent of applicants to the University of Mississippi were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Mississippi, 93 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 56 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in University enrolled 22,456 students in fall 2018, including 18,007 in undergraduate and 4,449 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

43 percent of undergraduates are residents of Mississippi, and 56 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (77 percent) and Black or African American (12 percent).

The school admitted 88 percent of the 15,371 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 25 percent enrolled.
