Cost of college went up for all students at KC's School of Hair Design

Tuition and fees rose 8.2 percent for 2018-19 at KC's School of Hair Design, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Mississippi students paid $13,200 to attend the private for-profit school this year – $1,000 more than the $12,200 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 74 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 17 students received grants or scholarships totaling $84,921 and 14 students took out student loans totaling more than $62,183.

Including all undergraduates (39), 38 students used grants or scholarships totaling $166,069, and 34 students took out $180,836 in federal student loans.
