Pontotoc County Chamber Main Street - Main Street Trolley

76

BETH Bites by Beth Luther Waldo. One of the 2 Beths in our office eats somewhere in Pontotoc County and tells you all about.

This past week, both Beths decided to go to lunch in Downtown Ecru at The Main Street Trolley, located at 222 W Main St., Ecru, MS. All I can say is--it's just a fun place to eat!  My sister and I owned the assisted living behind "The Trolley" for several years, and you could pretty much catch me and my son almost daily visiting and eating with Junior and Ethel Grant who at that time owned The Trolley.

I try to eat a salad at lunch, but there was no way I was going to The Trolley and not getting a Dough Burger. I did order the smallest one and have included a before and after picture:) Beth Grisham ordered a Fried Green Tomato BLT that looked divine. We decided to open the sandwich up so you could see the beautiful fried inside!! We started talking about the Ice Cream and found out their best seller is Flavor Burst Soft Serve. We asked for a couple of very small samples just so we could verify that it is truly good, and we may have acted like we didn't need all that Ice Cream. But, we ate EVERY bite.

I had to go through Ecru today with my Tut who was a carpenter for my Daddy for all of my growing up years and who comes to all of our family functions. I just couldn't pass by without getting him a milkshake. It wasn't long before I heard the straw "slurping" the bottom.

The Trolley is a wonderful, unique experience. It truly is like stepping back in time. If you have never tried it, or if it has been awhile, go by and see them. You won't be sorry!
