White had the largest percent of student body in Union County schools in 2020-2021 school year

Of the 4,984 students enrolled in Union County schools in 2020-2021, 72.5% were White, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This was the most represented ethnicity among Union County students.

This is a 0.1% decrease from the previous school year.

East Union Attendance Center had the highest enrollment of White students in the 2020-2021 school year.

A snapshot of Union County schools showed 72.5% students were White, 15.2% were Black or African American, 7% were Hispanic or Latino, 3.2% were Two or More Races and 0.8% were Asian.

There are seven schools in Union County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
