What background was most represented in Coffeeville School District schools in 2021-22 school year?

Black students made up 82% of the 401 students enrolled in Coffeeville School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is an 11.1% decrease from the previous school year.

Coffeeville Elementary School had the highest enrollment in the district with 209 students.

A snapshot of Coffeeville School District schools showed 82% of students were Black and 14.2% white.

Coffeeville School District roughly covers two schools within Yalobusha County and has a main office in Coffeeville.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
