2021-22 School Year: What were the backgrounds of North Panola School District students?

Black students made up 94.5% of the 1,253 students enrolled in North Panola School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is an 8.8% decrease from the previous school year.

North Panola High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 354 students.

A snapshot of North Panola School District schools showed 94.5% of students were Black and 3.6% white.

North Panola School District roughly covers four schools within Panola County and has a main office in Sardis.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
