White had the largest percent of student body in Pontotoc City School District schools in 2021-22 school year

White students made up 50.9% of the 2,298 students enrolled in Pontotoc City School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 0.9% increase over the previous school year.

Pontotoc High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 652 students.

A snapshot of Pontotoc City School District schools showed 50.9% of students were white, 27.2% were Black, 16.4% were Hispanic, and 0.8% multiracial.

Pontotoc City School District roughly covers five schools within Pontotoc County and has a main office in Pontotoc.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
