Ole Miss softball senior Taylor Malvin was named to the Southeastern Conference’s annual SEC Community Service Team, according to a May 5 announcement from the conference.
The selection highlights Malvin’s ongoing commitment both on and off the field. Each year, one student-athlete from every SEC institution is chosen for this recognition, and this marks the second consecutive season that Malvin has been honored as Ole Miss’s representative.
Malvin played in 53 games this season, recording a .274 batting average with four doubles and 18 runs batted in. She served as a leader for her team and represented them on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Her volunteer efforts included packing boxes for Adopt-a-Basket ahead of Thanksgiving, helping at the North Mississippi Regional Center’s Haunted Trail event, collecting donations for Feed the Sip—which distributed 16,000 non-perishable food items to children in Tunica and Quitman counties—and mentoring youth at Oxford Park Commission. She also participated in campus events like Trunk or Treat through The Big Event initiative.
The Rebels are set to begin play in the 2026 SEC Tournament on Tuesday against No. 12 seed South Carolina at approximately 4 p.m., with coverage scheduled on SEC Network.
